Hello to all. I want to disable headphone output to see if I can stop the momentary appearance of the Xrun status icon. Is it an option in Oram and V5? There is no entry for it on the user interface pages of the webview, and no mention of it that I can find in the user guide.
Hi @alphonsom !
Welcome to the zynthian forum!
In V5, the headphones output doesn’t consume any CPU as it uses the DAC output, not the RPI one. Disabling it is not going to improve things.
Regarding your XRuns: Do you have VNC enabled? What engines are you using? Remember that having spurious XRuns is normal when adding / removing engines, changing routing, etc.
Also, is it an audible XRun or simply the icon flashing?
Regards,
Oh, thanks for the speedy reply. The engine is the DSP56300 running Ostirus. It’s only on one patch so far, and only a brief flash of the triangle. Mainly inaudible, but a tiny click sometimes. And no, VNC is disabled.
My friend, with OsTIrus you are too close to the CPU limits. If you really don’t want XRuns with OsTIrus you should run it without the native GUI, disabling VNC. Also, probably some presets will generate XRUNs anyway.
Also, you could try overclocking your RBPi. There is some options in the webconf.

Thanks for the tip. I overclocked to medium and all is well.
