hi @hannesmenzel. I was attempting to explain that the plugin is working and the presets show up, but not the synth parameters (below Midi Controllers in the chain page), although I tried to normally update and also tried to place the correct dsp.ttl in the right place. So I wondered if some aditional procedure (running a script or something) is needed beyond placing the file in the right place. @riban hinted me about possibly having more than 1 plugin instance, since I also built it from source, but I am away and couldn’t investigate it yet.
Thank you!
Bingo @riban. Somehow, in my early attempts to build it, I created a copy of the plugin inside /zynthian/zynthian-my-data/presets/lv2/Ultramaster KR-106.lv2. Zapped it, reboot and voilà.
Thanks a bunch, it’s a good feeling to figure a tiny bit more of this big picture ![]()
Curious. This happened to me twice in the latest weeks with different plugins. I’m starting to think there is some piece of code somewhere that creates these copies under some circumstances.
Let’s keep our eyes open regarding similar issues …
Cheers
I’ve been trying to integrate the latest ARP parameters in the zynthian UI, but i can’t find the new parameters in the LV2’s TTL definition.
Please, could you make available in the LV2 TTL definition the latest changes in arpegiator?
Thanks!
The question is if they can appear in the ttl as long as they aren’t parameters but probably internal variables?
Now all options from the “settings” menu are integrated in the zynthian UI. These include:
- Voices: 6, 8, 10
- VCF Oversample: x2, x4
- ARP Sync to host: on/off
- LFO Sync to host: on/off
- Ignore MIDI Velocity: on/off
- Limit ARP to keyboard range: on/off
- Mono Retrigger: on/off
- MIDI SyseX: on/off
Simply update (Vangelis) and enjoy!
Thanks @kayrockscreenprintin for making these accessible as LV2 parameters!
Regards!
How to make the mod wheel pitch in a keyboard controller work? ![]()
Hi @Nicolaz.
Do you mean that a hardware ptichwheel does not bend the pitch of the KR-106? This relates to how the patches are built. It seems they do not by default link the pitchwheel to the VCO pitch. This can be done by changing the value of the “Bender DCO” control (currently on params 13 page).
Yes, i tried but i have no results. Changing “Bender DCO” value seems useless. Only the “Bender” control is working, and i can assign it to the mod wheel but it’s not as the same as the pitch wheel, of course.
Okay - so you assign some bend range to DCO which means the pitchbend will adjust pitch. Now you want to assign CC1 mod wheel to control this. MIDI learn “Bender” to the mod wheel (CC1).
Ok, seems like the problem was in my Arturia Keystep. Worked in Akai Mini Plus so i did a reset on the Arturia and now it’s ok. Thanks!
In our rehearsal yesterday I noticed that for me in the current version preset load doesn’t update all the parameters. Pretty sure the portamento type is among them.
Are there probably old patches left anywhere which do not include the newly presented plugin parameters or so?
Other than that this synth got band approved yesterday.
I too have noticed strange patches behaviors. I’m again having problems with bender and I have the impressione that some sounds have slightly changed after updates. I guess this is more or less normal considering that develpers are improving the engine very often.
At least I can confirm that regeneratng the presets for that plugin before reboot does not resolve the issue.
Also I made an Init patch, and after selecting this one all other presets sound different. I assume these issues are related.
PS: I noticed the presets only have 44 values stored while the current plugin version has 55 parameters:
This might be related. I reported that upstream.
Here’s a track I made to experiment with Ultramaster. There are 8 parts with different sounds, plus two Fabla drum parts. I used effects in some part: delay, reverb and panning. Everything came from Zynthian and there’s no mastering. I like the result and I hope I was able to balance all the different sound. Thanks to @kayrockscreenprintin and all the developers for the emulator!
The title of the song is “Sprammagamma”. Spramma means “fear” or “fright” in sardinian language. Gamma… is a tribute to Alan Parsons Project ![]()
OMG!! You exhausted the chars for phrases, from A to Z.
Amazing trip, @Nicolaz !! I enjoyed a lot listening, special kudos for the transition from Q to R and the flying leads in V and W to reach the end. Congrats mate!!
I see you don’t use phrase loops (repeat from, etc.) nor parameter automation. Perhaps in your next piece ![]()
BTW, automating panning with Fabla is super-cool. You can pan each sound separatelly and get very dynamic effects. You could also try to add panning automation to any synth line.
All the best!
Thanks! About phrase loops, repeat, etc., the idea for this track was to experiment expecially with Ultramaster, and secondary with Vangelis. Apart from this, I didn’t use complex automations because every recurring phrase has some difference from the original one, so the A to Z structure was the best in this case.
About panning automation, i used panning effects. I will experiment with automation parameters in sequences for sure.
Anyway, the track is, as usual, a draft (an almost definitive one).
And… this is the snapshot.
034-Sprammagamma.zss (391.6 KB)
Nice! The snapshot works perfectly OK in my V5, although i had to disable VNC to avoid spurious XRUNs.
Turned out this is indended behaviour.
