Usb midi thru

I would like to pass the MIDI arriving at my Zynthian from My Roland FP-10 keyboard via USB midi, through to my Roland BK-7M arranger module using USB midi.

I would like for both the Zynthian and the BK7M to receive the notes from the keyboard.

I have plugged them both in and tried different settings on the Zynthian but I seem to have a mental block where midi is concerned

Is This possible?

Thanks

MIDI is not directly passed from zynth inputs to zynth outputs. These need to be explicitly enabled by providing a MIDI chain and selecting the appropriate MIDI Inputs & MIDI outputs to make it all happen.

I am trying to embed a workflow but can’t(as yet ) perform the required dance. . . .

  • Add a MIDI chain set to ALL MIDI CHANNELS.
  • In the chain menu, MIDI Input, select the input device.
  • In the chain menu, MIDI Output, select the output device.

MIDI should now pass from the input to the output. You can also select the same input device to feed a synth chain.

By default, all MIDI inputs are selected and all MIDI outputs are unselected.

Thank you both so much.

I have wasted many hours on this but now it is working.

There is a mechanism, designed for just such a situation.

It’s never wasted time.
