Using the Hifiberry ADC8x with the DAC8x

Hi guys,
as you may know there is an addon card for the hifiberry DAC8x card available. This would give 8 analog audio inputs.

I ordered this card and used it with a Raspi5. But zynthian does not detect the input devices:

  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
root@zynthian://zynthian# arecord -l

According to this blogpost we need a Linux kernel not before mid of February 2025.

There is no Version number in this blogpost. can someone tell me which version is needed or when this kernel version gets to zynthian.
Having 8 inputs would be awseome.

Niiice! This is the DAC8X extension we were waiting for. Very tempted to order, but it looks like the updated overlay for ADC8X needs the latest Linux Raspberry OS kernel, which I am not sure if it’s already integrated in the latest Oram stable.

I would definitely refrain, for well known reasons, from updating manually the Oram kernel with sudo rpi-update. @jofemodo and @riban, could you please check if the new kernel can be installed safely through an official Oram OS update?

Thanks @JayBee, for pointing us at this exciting new HiFiberry release availability. :+1: :rainbow:

Hmm, it seems there ist not so much resonance to this topic.
I am now on vacation, i can test it with the instabile branch at the end of may.
