V4 soundcard for custom build

Hi, all

Is there any chance to get the soundcard from v4 kit? I’m considering this to make a pi5 + nvme custom build for a friend of mine.

I didn’t find It in the shop.

Hi

The build guides for Zynthian 4.x are listed here, and specify the sound cards.

That said, you are not restricted to the Hifiberry card used there.

Here is the list of supported audio interfaces:

As to the Zynthian shop, the Zynthian has moved to V5 but you can easily buy the supported audio cards elsewhere.

Hi @jawn,

I know I can go for other cards, but the V4 soundcard is a very good one that doesn’t have any builtin Jack/midi conectors what is very useful to adapt to cases. I could buy the standard edition, but the one from the V4 kit Will make things esasier…..if it’s possible to get one.

Hi

I read the following are used in V4.x depending on the version:

  • Hifiberry DAC+ADC PRO
  • Hifiberry DAC+ADC Stage
  • ZynADAC soundcard

The Hifiberry cards are available online (Google), the ZynADAC was a custom open source design by the Zynthian team, you can search this forum for more info.

I think the “stage” version isn’t exactly available, it’s more an offer for companies/people who want a customized hifiberry dac with a quantity of 100+ or so. The ZynAdac seems not available but open sourced for building yourself or let a chinese pcb etching company prepare for you from the given files in the hardware repository. This seems to be the one @smespresati is searching for.

The Adc Pro from the earliest V4 version meanwhile can be bought, but has the premounted jack connectors @smespresati wants to avoid.

For my own custom build I used the Dac2 Adc Pro, which of course gives you the opportunity (like the Dac+ adc pro as well I think) to connect any other input/output connectors via the onboard pins as well. I assume you know this, but wanted to mention that anyway, leaving you with the mentioned extra 3.5mm/chinch jacks hanging around unused.
