all the discourse I’ve seen about using Vital with zynthian on here has said that its not particularly well optimised and it is hard to get it to run without x-runs.
I have been using vital live on zynthian for a few months now with little to no issues, even when using some relatively heavy presets involving noise samples and FM.
there are a few small issues which I think could make this synth even better to use. The first is that the parameters are laid out completely randomly in the zynthian UI, making it impossible to edit sounds without using VNC. I imagine this has been overlooked as a result of the prevailing opinion that vital is too heavy to run on zynthian however, seeing as this does not seem to be true anymore, perhaps we could get a slightly more organised layout in the UI?
another issue is that the mod wheel parameter inside vital seems to react directly to the mod wheel of a keyboard, not to midiCC01, meaning it is impossible to map another controller to control the mod wheel parameter.
The final small issue (Barely even an issue) is that the version of vital that zynthian ships with is quite old and a lot of modern presets dont work with it. It is also very difficult to upload vital presets to zynthian as there is no way I have found to export as LV2 on a Mac and no way to upload .vital files directly to the zynthian without doing a long workaround using VNC.
Love all the work you guys are doing at zynthian, this is just a small thing I’ve noticed which would take it to the next level in my opinion
