Something like Reason rack Extension for Zynthian???
Or Like a Clap-Lv2-Vst format like, so anyone could port a sound-midi module to Zytnhian
and that could be added to the system with no efforts???
It would be supercool to have let say Reason Europa, which is also in Vst,
running on Zynthian… It would open the doors for payed developers to
a new market… the point here is … how much there would need to invest
time and effort developing this Virtual Audio format vs Returns???
I’m no expert here, but folks like Elk OS has been trying to do just that,
and in reality no folks at Reason or else, other RE developers, like
Turn2On, Panda, etc, didn’t feel compelled to invest into making a standalone version
of their interface with a Eurorack-Elk OS driven interface…
probably the costs were simply too high to begin with…
My dream was to let a Eurorack interface run Reason and it could run whatever
Rack Extension one owns, but it never realized. Only 4ms built Vcv Rack for Eurorack
in the End, bc of it Open Source nature, they could justify the costs for the Interface.
Whilst something like the AKAI MPC has their own payed wall of sounds inside it,
that makes it really awesome looking in the UI but expansive as hell…
THe esay path would be port say Clap or LV2 to Zynthian, but the UI interface needs to be “converted” on the fly for Zynthian??? Or it should run a sort of second screen…??
Like simulating an SSH connection via a secondary Uart-SPI display if it does even makes sense - so it would allow X11 desktop to run and load standard Lv2-Vst GUis’??
Like… a modded Nintendo DS but with a Pi5 Cm module brain in it???
Or an external HDMI monitor that would work as a cover?? (an old Ipad even?)
OK, this is a double thread in one, I crossed a couple of ideas into one big spaghetti hat
PS: Btw, who’s using a Pi4 or 5 to Webconfig into a Zynthian on another Pi??
Maybe it could be possible chain them som ether way rather than using the Ethernet cable?? Uart and SSH into a second monitor would it be feasible and the virtualize the OS on the Risc portion of the Pi???
I need to ask the rpi guys on this…
