Where is Pianoteq? (Solved)

I’ve just finished a fresh install and update from branch “staging oram”.
When I tried Add Instrument Chain, pianoteq was not there.
I went ahead and upload/installed the 8.4.0, verified its activation on the modartt website : still nowhere to be found in the zynthian interface.

I’m not panicking as of yet but my arterial tension is measurably slightly higher. I’ll go and brew myself some camomile (brb) ¿help?

Btw, reaching /sw-pianoteq in the web interface does display everything expected. On the /sw-engines page pianoteq in indeed enabled but its title is Pianoteq STAGE 8.1.3 when the /sw-pianoteq page displays correctly what I’ve just downloaded which is the latest 8.4.0… What gives ‽

Is the 8.4.0 the STAGE version as well or did you upgrade at Modartt recently?
Your installation seems to have two versions installed. And one engine is loaded, so that the 8.4.0 is not displayed as option anymore.

I’ve uploaded and install 8.4.0 STAGE from the Modartt website to the zynthian. Yes, I have the STAGE version.

That your licence is more than STAGE.

On my Modartt user_space it says :

Pianoteq 8 Stage
Download the latest version: 8.4.0
Instrument packs included : 3

But I think, you have two options. Use ssh, find the old pianoteq binaries and delete them.
Or install from scratch.

I guess you uploaded pianoteq 8.4.0 more than once after a reboot already?!

I just rm -rf pianoteq[,.old], rebooted, and am currently uploading 8.4.0.

Have you looked in the “pianos” category of midi instruments? Do you have an instance of Pianoteq already in a chain?

No. Pianoteq is nowhere to be found on the Zynthian interface.

Where/what is the “midi instruments” ?

Add instrument. Change to pianos category. What do you see?

Well, I do feel like a total dumbass. The are 5 categories on my right… I now have a Pianoteq chain. Champagne :tada:
