WIDI Bud Pro with two controllers simultaneously?

I have two keyboards connected to my Zynthian over Bluetooth, using a WIDI Bud Pro (made by CME). However, I can only use one keyboard at the time. If I turn on both, only the first one gets connected.

Is this some limitation in Linux, or Zynthian? Coming from a Windows setup I could easily use both at the same time, and I haven’t done any changes since then. At the time I simply paired both keyboards to the WIDI Bud Pro without using any specific app.

We’ve had two identical devices connecting successfully over MIDI over Wifi ( Duo Pianos) but I don’t know the current state of this endeavour.

Does it always see the same keyboard when you start it with both or does it change?

It always sees the keyboard that is turned on first. Keyboard number 2 keeps blinking blue as in looking for a host. Keyboard 2 connects only when I turn off keyboard 1. It doesn’t matter which of the two keyboards that is 1 and 2. It’s always the first that “wins”.

When I use the WIDI Bod Pro it Windows both keyboards connect. Makes me think that the WIDI Bud Pro works differently in Windows and Linux, somehow.

Is there a specific WIDI driver you load on Windows?

Hi,
Better solution Is not use zynthian bluetooth.
The correct solution Is use thirdth WiDi Bud Pro as master and connect to zynthian. Other WiDi Bud must be set as slave. Pleas find my remarks here in discussions about WiDi. I have many experience with this. Sorry i ansver from my phone without grammar correction.

No installed driver. As I recall it was straight forward pairing out of the box. Has no one else done this?

Does the dongle present as a USB MIDI device to the zynthian …?

If you type

aconnect -l

at the command prompt, what shows up?

root@zynthian://zynthian# aconnect -l
client 0: 'System' [type=kernel]
    0 'Timer '
    1 'Announce '
        Connecting To: 128:0
client 14: 'Midi Through' [type=kernel]
    0 'Midi Through Port-0'
        Connecting To: 128:0[real:0]
        Connected From: 128:0
client 20: 'WIDI Bud Pro' [type=kernel,card=1]
0 'WIDI Bud Pro MIDI 1'
client 24: 'f_midi' [type=kernel,card=2]
    0 'f_midi

just for interests sake try

aseqdump&
aconnect -l
aconnect 20 128

Then play on both keyboards…

If you see notes from both it’s progress, otherwise it might well follow the which was plugged in first rule.

Connection failed (Operation not permitted)

Anyway, I’m probably wrong about this being a Linux or Zynthian related issue. The second keyboard clearly doesn’t even connect to the WIDI Bud Pro at all, and probably for some other reason. Maybe I’ll just try to factory reset it and pair both keyboards again.

The WiDi equipment must be set by WiDi application over phone
