I haven’t really used Plugdata myself (not a fan of the UI) but as I’ve started to look at it a bit more with an eye toward compiling patches to LV2 on the Zynthian later this year, it occured to me that an easier way to use more than one Puredata patch at the same time (and use them in regular audio and MIDI chains) might be a Plugdata’s own LV2 version rather than compiling the patches themselves.
Just a thought that’s not fully formed enough to be a real feature request yet.
Running multiple instances of PD could be handy too, but the thing about using it as an LV2 (one way or another) is that you could use it anywhere you could use any other LV2, so it would become a sort of audio/MIDI swiss army knife that you could use wherever. Basically the same reason I posted about .JS support a few months ago and how we use a few old Axoloti boards as general purpose problem solving tools in the band’s hardware setup right now.
It would be so good.
I’ll see if I can get either of them working on my Zynthian sometime next week once I get it fixed, I should have time to do the repairs over the weekend.
Camomille seems not to be developed anymore(?) .
I would also like to have pd with multiple instances (for a long time).
I think, IIRC, @jofemodo suggests it could be possible, but probably there is some issue with the midi implementation, and that there is only one instance is kind of a relict from the earlier implementations of zynthian.
I’m not shure about plugdata, because I never used it as a lv2 plugin. How would the patch loading work then?
Regards
I have no idea, I’ve basically never used Plugdata at all, just vanilla PD and a bit with some similarly minimalistic variants (Axoloti, VVVV, Max/MSP in the early 2000s when it looked like PD)
