this is a RK3399 devboard called OrangePi 4.i will use this as our dev platform.
but let us build a MINI version with an rpi4 first!
today i will send MINI PCB file to the factory.
i think you must need this:It’s very comfortable to use it for combing hair.
our hardware engineer made this!
This might be the weirdest PCB project I have ever seen. Kudos <3
If you have not changed anything in mini design you could order PCBs here.
If you have changed something it would be good to fork mini GitHub project so that we can merge it later.
@stojos were you considering changing mini to fit eurorack format? I think there was some discussion on this before.
Let discuss this on Zynthian mini thread.
Hi @0104988com
With Open Source, do you mean in the term of your custom “RRL” ?
HI,le51!
“RPL will only be used for certain special products developed independently by us. Additionally, for our recently developed open-source products, we do not intend to use this non-open, and even not truly ‘free’ license. For example, I will use the MIT license for Chocoly and Oreoly (which have not been updated yet). Please rest assured that we will fully comply with your rules regarding everything related to you.”
Thanks for clarification. All the best
For the first version, we will not make any modifications; we are just sharing Zynthian with my friends. Due to the peculiarities of the internet in China (including logistics and payment networks), the vast majority of internet applications used by Chinese people are isolated from the rest of the world. We cannot use the international version of PCBWay, which incurs many additional costs, possibly several times the cost of directly working with a factory for prototyping. Yes, if we have any modifications, I believe we would be very willing to submit changes for the mini branch, including ideas regarding Eurorack modifications. Let’s have fun together!
Hello everyone! After i am building my zynthian mini,i had found some goal of the XENT project:
first
First, the XENT project will be fully open-source, and we will make modifications to the complete FORK autonomous line version.
Second, for any new ideas that are beneficial to the development of the Zynthian mainline, we will submit a new form to seek community consent before proceeding. Any modifications that I believe do not align with the Zynthian mainline objectives will be kept within the XENT project. However, if there are interesting designs that others feel are worth submitting, I can certainly do so.
Third, this form will serve as the main form for the XENT project for the long term, and any suggestions can be made here. Fourth, the goal of XENT will not change; it remains to find a way to provide music tools at low cost for those with limited budgets. In China, there are many people living on monthly salaries below 258.8 euros who need to support their families. I hope that those who love music among this group can afford this equipment. For those with sufficient budgets, I strongly oppose purchasing the XENT retail version (due to sound quality and support for the mainline), but I welcome DIY replicas and various research endeavors.
Fifth, the mature version of the XENT project has a very low price but may not use high-quality chips. As mentioned by others in the community, the XENT branch might affect the development of the mainline. I believe it is best not to add any components that use cheap chips to the mainline.
Next, I will discuss some of my recent work plans.
