Tom Waits sang: “I’m all alone, I’ve smoked my friends down to the filter”
Can you who know the english language tell if there is an opposite to “alone” - something in one word, not a sentence or a phrase?
It is a plastic suitcase from China that holds the Zynthian V5 and the Akai Pro APC key25, Z is in the trunk of the case, Akai is in the lid. But when in use the lid will be on a flat surface and the trunk (if that is the word for the bigger appartment) will be upright.
The Z is able to come out a little and tilt backwards due to the lever mechanism shown on photo 2.
Im wondering: Will the threads in the inner case be strong enough in the long run (the levers are attached where 2 of the 3 side screws on the Zv5 is located) or should i encase the Z-case in something like an exo-sceleton?
Any other ideas that pops up in some of the brains possible reading this is also welcome!
I’m tempted to go with the original threads as it would make the whole thing simpler and more lightweight - and then just deal with the problem if it arises…
I think the case of Zynthian is strong enough to hold itself even if it´s only mounted on two threads on one side of the case. But the screws are not very thick, so they might break or threads may be pulled out an be damaged.
Additionally the whole thing will be very weak when pushing buttons or encoders as there is not much mechanical resistance. Also the two levers seem to be very thin, they will be bent down due to Zynthians weight. It will hang down on the right side. I would suggest to have levers on both sides of the lid.
So Zynthian will be held properly and also useability will be much better.
You have also to take care that Zynthian has a rest-place where it lies on when it hangs out on the levers.
Greetings
The rest of your points are much valid, but allready taken care of. The drawing was only made to simulate the moving in and out of the V5. I should have stated this in my OP
So then; i might go for putting faith in the threads (and possibly pulling them), but if any one could come up with a valid suggestion to enforce the threads on the inside af the cabinet (maybe glue a nut in place before assembly) i would appreciate
