ZYNTHIAN error message while booting [SOLVED]

Hi everybody,

Did my first attemps to explore zynthian these days. It’s not running as easily as i thought.

My set up:
Raspberry pi 3
hifiberry Dac+ Light
Adafruit PiTFT 2.8"
Micro SD 32 Go
Basic kit prebuilt
Homemade Ice-cream enclosure (the final one will be in wood, with a on/off button an another power adapter, but i’m not hurry…)

I tried everything i’m going to talk about twice, often more than that.
I tried with the all set up and just raspberry+hifiberry+adafruit (more than twice again)
I tried to format and write again the images many times. I tried to download them again.

But same problems are always on my road.

PROBLEMS

1)The last image is not running. It stop at stage 5 while booting and this zynthian error screen (img 1) appears.
I can’t access the webconf (yet).
When booting with a hdmi connected screen, booting seems good . Everything appears [OK] (green) but when the error message appears on the piTFT I have a black screen on my hdmi screen

  1. The previous image (12/2016) run, but it’s not stable. I can navigate in the menu, encoders seems to work.
I can acces to network options and get the IP adress (but still no webconf working)
I can’t access the audio test (didn’t configured my audio device because i can’t acces the webconfig for now so no surprise)
When I try to run ZynAdd or any tool, zynthian freeze. The only issue is to deconnect the mini usb power.

POSSIBLE ISSUES

Try again to connect to webconf. Try to plug a screen by hdmi and a usb keyboard to “check” the booting

Try with a 16 Go SD card (I don’t have one right now)

Soldering problem on the 26 pin these are the only solder i done by myself, but they really seems to be ok.
I have to show my work to a friend wich is a kind of expert in soldering.
I guess if solder was not good zynthian may not run at all, right?

What I really don’t understand is the fact that it run with the previous image (not stable) but not at all with the last one.

So I tried to explain clearly my problems. I’m a real noob in programming so it will take me time to try “easy and basic stuff”.
If you have some line of thought I’ll be happy to try them. Waiting for all your ideas and I’ll write you again when i’ll find something.

Many Thanks

TeHef

I also tried to connect the pitft directly to the raspberry. The same error message appears. Do you think I can consider the problem don’t come from the 26 pin solder?

Are you able to connect via ssh?

Try the last section of
http://wiki.zynthian.org/index.php/Command_Line_User_Guide

We need to see the “logs”.
I can’t see your image btw.

I already tried with sftp, on different computer, conected to the network or to different pc RJ45 RJ45.

Not found each time. I tried ssh with the last image, did not work. I’m going to try ssh with older image, wich normally run

Please, run the UI from the command line, as @meidt as commented above. We need the logs

Hi

Good news, EVERYTHING IS WORKING.

After many and many tries to access webconf, run the UI (an many other stuffs wich didn’t work), I decided to modify my solders. I Just melted again 2 suspect solder and everything work good now.

Sorry to annoy you, but I really want to THANK YOU for your disponibility and your quick answers. I’m glad to now be a part of zynthian world.

I’ll contribute to topics when my definitive case wil be ok, and when I’ll get some interesting stuffs to share.

Have a good day!
