Hey all. I was just wondering if there is any plan to restock the Zynthian v5.1 hardware kit. I am really interested in getting one.
Hey @wmnelis - Welcome to ZynthianlLand! This was talked about 2 days ago over here:
Any progress regarding the availability? The 1-2 weeks have passed, and I’m eager to get into this project, hands on.
Sorry for being nagging, but is there any updated info regarding the availability? I guess something has not gone according to plans(?). Maybe I’m the only one here who still doesn’t have a Zynthian.
Hi @laban77 - I don’t know whether @jofemodo 's recent birthday accident has caused an additional delay (see Jofemodo becames a Playmobil ), but it certainly couldn’t help!
You do have the option of building a Do-It-Yourself Zynthian if you’re moderately handy with Raspberry Pi and Linux - see the wiki, ZynthianWiki for info on your options, particularly:
Building a zynthian box is not difficult and relatively inexpensive, varying from 100 to 500 €, depending on the chosen components. You can:
- Buy the official V5 kit or just some parts in the Zynthian Shop
- Build everything from scratch using the publicly available documentation. You’ll be able to go from a totally headless system to an integrated instrument with your midi keyboard.
- Try zynthian’s software with only a Raspberry Pi, a HDMI display and a USB mouse. Once setup, connect & control remotely with a touchscreen device.
Zynthian is a working project in active development and supported by volunteers. While best efforts are made, this wiki may not match the current state of the software. To catch up on the latest, check in at the active and friendly Forum
And of course you can tell us about your requirements and ask questions here in the forum to get advice and help.
The Pi itself can be reused later in the official kit, and you can get a very inexpensive audio card to use in the meantime.
Zynthians do occasionally popup for sale here and on eBay and elsewhere.
Hi @laban77 !
We have some delay with the aluminum parts and we are still awaiting to receive the packages.
Hopefully, it’s a question of 1-2 weeks more .
Regards
I see you have added a metallic spelling mistake.
It will increase the sympathy immeasurably . . .
Ha! That’s the usual Aluminum (US) vs. Aluminium (UK) querelle . I also prefer the latter, but both work!
I use Allyminiyum.
Eko boron…
Hello guys! Are there any news concerning v5.1 kit availability?
It will be available by monday or tuesday…
Well, we received the aluminum cases and the thermal blocks, so the kit V5.1 is available again.
Sorry for the long awaiting!
The best,
Just tried to order to the uk but got a message that this shipping method is not available.
Can you not ship to uk
I got the same result, UK wasn’t available as a shipping country.
It should work now. Please, re-try.
Regards,
