Zynthian V5 with Kit (no Main Menu)

Hello to Everyone
when there is a Main Menu then how to get there? I just downloaded the last stable Image (2024/07) an wrote it in a 64GB SD. The same as before. No Main menu. The Manual says: OPT/ADMIN * Options or Menu: Contextual. Click several times to reach the main menu. But it toggles only between Chain and Admin. A really long press will shut down the device. What am i doin wrang?

Welcome to the zynthian forum! I hope you enjoy the chat and find good answers to all your questions and doubts.

In V5, “main menu” is replaced by a lighter version, the “chain menu”. All options in the main menu are one-click reachable from the V5 silicone buttons, so it would be redundant and confusing.

BTW, i strongly recommend you to download and use the new “Oram” version. It works faster and better than the current stable and it has lots of improvements and fixes. Oram will be released as the next stable along the next weeks, once we update the documentation

I understand I can reach the options from my v5.1 hardware buttons, but one of the features I loved when testing with the bare metal raspberrry only testbed (where I still have the full main menu) was the ability to play and test around with the settings while sitting on the sofa via my laptop, with the zynth running in a different room. As it is still available on the RPi5 only system I assume there should/could be a config setting to enable it, but I haven’t found it yet (maybe I should pretend being blind…).

So, where’s the config setting to get the full main menu on v5.1 hardware?

**Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.** On RPi5 only… I have the full menu available whereas I ony have the chains menu on Zynthian v5.1 hardware. While understanding that all (missing) entries can be reached by hardware buttons, I'd prefer being able to have the full main menu for the sake of being able to remote control (VNC) these entries also if the Zynthian is not physically in reach. **Describe the solution you'd like** Add a toggle somewhere in Admin to switch between full and chains only main menu. **Describe alternatives you've considered** I currently don't see an alternative. **Additional context** As the full menu is still available on my RPi5 whereas I have the chains only menu on my Zynthian v5.1, there must be a logic somewhere (I assume in the hardware detection/wiring logic) that already changes the menu behaviour according to available hardware.
