This folder shouldn’t exist.
If it does, it’s probably because of some issue while updating. What is the original date of your current image? Send the full screenshot of your webconf’s dashboard, please.
Perhaps you could try to use the latest SD-image …

Hi @jofemodo
, thank you for the feedback.
Not at home now, but Oram was installed two days ago from a freshly burned latest image in the official Zynthian repo. I just forced an update from webconf today, but the JV880 directory was already missing on first boot.
I thought that creating the folder myself wasn’t useful, but It is swift and easy, and as it seems the plugin will search for the firmware there. Later at the computer I will send you the complete webconf screen, and will clean the two plugin directoriws from the added files.
Regards
I just commited a patch to Oram & Vangelis. Updating should create the missing “empty” directory.
Also, i’ve created symlinks, accessible from the FileBrowser, to ROM directories for the existing emulators:
I hope this will make things a little bit easier.
Remember that default credentials for FileBrowser are:
user: zynthian
password: opensynth (or your zynthian’s password, if you changed it)

Great @jofemodo: thanks, good news then, and a definite improvement on the whole emulators management workflow!
Best regards
@jofemodo, I have switched on the system (Oram latest) to see if an update was available, but no recycling icon appeared, therefore I forced an update from webconf, just to discover that the OS components were the same as before.
Indeed, no ROMS symlinks were shown on the Webconf File Browser.
Anyway, when attempting to create manually /root/.config/JV880 I was warned that the directory already existed, and it dawned on me that it might have been flagged as a hidden folder in the latest OS release, which turned out to be the case when I enabled visibility of hidden files on my FTPS app (Termius).
Thus, I copied the ROMs manually to the JV880 directory and -bang!- the synth GUI was enabled on VNC and playable on the Zynth.
Only issue: no presets show on the Zynthian GUI, but I guess it depends on my regeneration procedure after the Oram installation, without the firmware in the right folder.
Tomorrow I will try to run again:
regenerate_lv2_presets.sh GitHub - giulioz/jv880_juce
and see if I am able to recover the presets list on Zynthian.
Regards.
Hi
, I have manually recovered the presets list through regenerate from console/terminal.
All is working now, and patch selection, orderly organised in expansion banks, is correctly aligned between Zynthian GUI and native interface on VNC, which at this point is redundant, resource consuming and thus disabled.
No update “recycling” notice yet on latest Oram stable.
Also - but this might be subjective - the output volume of VirtualJV feels definitely lower than I remember, compared for example to engines like Zynadd and Sfizz. It needs to be pumped up close to 0 db for getting a balanced mix.
Cheers!
Edit: I am guessing that with “Oram” update, however unspecified, you maybe meant the staging version.
