Odin 2 LV2 Synth

Indeed sir,
If sir would proceed to the executive lift, sir will be welcomed at the top by his staff for the day who will escort him,
to ,
well . . .

I’m sure you understand.

Normal punishment applies…

Excellent synths should move Good synths into storage rooms, hopefully in good flight cases.

Just like hardware instruments…

From our perspective it what resource snapshots call on.

Needed a full power off to get things consistent.

I build 6 banks, it remains 7 banks.

As I said, Odin uses is resource intensive. Use it in legato (Mono) mode most often and avoid Unison voice overlap

It’s cool to be able to use Odin, I like the synth. But for example with “Vibraphone” preset in “Chimes” Bank, I experimented lots of Xruns, and I don’t know why.

Maybe we have to reduced polyphony, it’s 24 polyphony now, I don’t know if it’s possible to reduced it.

Not available as GUI parameters. Have to be set via VNC Engine option in webconf.

Thanks for sharing the presets! Some great sounding things here :+1:

I saw that, I don’t know how to implement it, but I think it’s an essential parameter, especially for such a resource-intensive synth.

I compiled a new bank

Odin2_Instruments.lv2.zip (252.3 KB)

Currently we have :

Odin consumes approx. 10% CPU (measured with jack_cpu_load) whilst idle, i.e. it will consume that without you playing anything. This shoots up rapidly as you start to play, depending on the complexity of the patch. Similar to other synths in Zynthian it must be used with extreme care. It is easy to drive it into xruns which results in clicks or in more extreme cases, digital noise on the output. It is a nice looking synth with a stack-load of configuration, most of which is only exposed in the native GUI and looks like a power horse but remember you are running it on a light hardware platform.

Your manifest has an error for MusicBox. These two files need changing:

manifest.ttl (2.8 KB)
MusicBox__Photonic_.ttl (80.8 KB)

Thanks a lot, @Tabula !

The presets are already included in testing & stable branches, including @riban’s fix to MusicBox.
Great work!

Regards,

you’re welcome @jofemodo !
Thanks @riban Riban for editing the wrong files!

I built 5 other banks:
Odin2_Keys.lv2.zip (287.3 KB)
Odin2_Leads.lv2.zip (336.7 KB)
Odin2_Organ.lv2.zip (169.8 KB)
Odin2_Pads.lv2.zip (489.2 KB)
Odin2_SFX.lv2.zip (352.2 KB)

Is there some way of adding LV2 directories and zip files into the presets function in webconf…?
IT seems nearly all the components are there, it just needs the functionality.

You can already upload these presets using webconf. Indeed that is how I tested the “Instrument” pack.

Ok Odin2 has appeared now…

But it wasn’t there yesterday… or was it? I don’t know what to believe, nothing is the same…

I think I need to lie down…

I updated, twice in fact, after flashing a completely new Stable 2211 image. Still don’t see Odin 2 after the updates. I rebooted and then did a full power cycle as well.

It might need a full reboot to bed these changes in properly and Overnight seems to have helped…

Seems to need a full reboot to get the folders to appear in the GUI.

Did your Zynthian need a good night’s sleep to add Odin?

It took a couple of power offs to get it to respond. There is a fair bit of superintendency what with JALV and all the other bits and pieces and it’s doing a lot,
It’s probably best to be impressed it get there, and I’ve been writing this up on this thread to demonstrate to others how to get it to work.

I’ve rebooted ad I can now select an existing instance of an Odin Engine and Short Select followed by Two short Backs shows the full list which can be selected and the engine changes to the new preset.

However doing this doesnt refresh the title in the Mixer screen.

@Dithered42 have you “Search for new Plugins & Presets”?
