Hi everyone ![]()
I am opening this thread to keep trace of the available knowledge, configuration tips and current technical consensus, about the recommended settings for the optimal Raspberry 5 CPU performance on Zynthian.
The first and main topics I would obviously like to raise are:
Overclocking
RAM settings
As for the first, I have noticed a perceptible improvement in the overall system capability to sustain complex snapshots, with heavy computational workload in Vangelis at medium overclocking, although not as significant as with Pi4.
As for the second, there seems to be ample discussion in the Raspberry Foundation forums, about marginal advantages of tweaking the system memory management with 8 Gb of RAM size.
Any opinions?

By the way, I wonder if some kind of up-to-date CPU and RAM optimisation is already implemented in the latest Vangelis releases.
If anybody wants to try overclocking, I recommend reading the advice in “Zynthian Overclocking”:
Thank you @tunagenes, for reposting and refreshing the knowledge already provided by @jofemodo, which I were aware of.
Indeed, I was asking myself if anything newer and relevant had emerged in the meantime.
