TAL-U-NO-LX-V2: The best Juno 60 emulator comes to zynthianland!

Hi @zynthianers!

Directly from TAL (Togu Audio Line), we have a “demo” version from one of its commercial plugins, the fantastic TAL-U-NO-LX-V2, one of the best emulators of the legendary Roland Juno 60:

Patrick Kunz, from TAL, has kindly allowed us to include this demo in the official zynthianOS images for a limited time. The demo is fully functional, including all features and presets, but it generates a white noise from time to time to remember you need to pay a license to fully enjoy this jewel.

TAL-U-NO-LX-V2 is fully integrated in zynthian UI, so you will get all the parameters well sorted in pages that follow the native GUI layout, with the right scale options, etc. Those of you who choose to pay the license would get the more portable, feature-rich and best sounding Juno 60 emulator in the world.

And the engine is light enough to run several instances in a RPi4 zynthian simultaneously. No performance issues at all.

For those of you who don’t know about TAL, i will introduce him, from its web site:

TAL Software GmbH is a small company founded around the year 2000 and located in switzerland. We create high quality instruments and effects with a user friendly interface for reasonable pricing. Our commercial vintage synth emulations are known to be very accurate and authentic. TAL software is in use by popular producers, musicians and mentioned in different interviews.

What is not said in its website is that TAL already has greately contributed to Zynthian and the Linux Audio ecosystem with some master pieces that are available as free software, like our beloved Noize Maker and a bunch of good quality audio effects:

And if you love the Juno 60 sound but you are a “Free Software” guy (like me!) think twice about it! This is a perfect time to express gratitude and incentivate commercial software producers who want to ride waves with us.

All the best!

I just added the new engine to the zynthian’s website:

You will find some nice audio and video demos there.

Enjoy!

Hello @jofemodo

Thank you for this great cooperation.
I have paid for the U-No-LX and it is really worth it.
How can I get rid of the demo mode? Unfortunately I cannot copy the device ID out of noVNC. Otherwise where would I put the seriel key file?

Greetings and God bless, Marius

As usual, Torso T-1 controls, Zynthian (RPi 400) plays. 4 x TAL-U-NO-LX-V2 (demo version)

I didn’t have problems copy/pasting the code. Try again, please. If not, try typing. Meanwhile i will look for alternatives;-)

Regards

THIS is a synth!.. I’m comparing it to the Arturia Juno 6 and there are no major differences (aside from the price… Arturia costs double…). Great work… I’m still left hoping someone will make my MiniMoog…

I have the iPad version of TAL-U-NO-LX, wich i bought in 2023. I wonder if this give me the rights to get a serial number for the Zynthian version.

Ask Patrick! Or try with the register number you already have to see if it works.

I cannot copy the key from the PC to the VNC server. How do I activate the synth ???

update:

I managed it via the sidebar of the VNC (clipboard). Really cool synth…

Yes, i asked. It’s not possible because of the Apple license system. I’ll consider buying a new license, though i’ve noticed that my TAL-U-NO-LX in the iPad is identical to the Zynthian version.

Ohhh! What a pitty!

TAL-U-NO-LX demo included in zynthian is last version. This plugin is super-mature so i wouldn’t expect big changes in the near future.

BTW, what do you think should be the next TAL plugin to land into zynthian?
Let’s help Patrick to choose the next one

TAL-J8, please :star_struck:

Hello @highsiderr

Thanks for the hint with the noVNC sidebar, that worked for me, too.
And for me, Tal-J8, too.

Greetings and God bless, Marius

I’d say TAL-J8 and TAL-Drum.

TAL-J-8 hands down! :star:

J-8 is my runner up, too.

I think Sampler would be great because the Zynthian already has plenty of good synths but doesn’t have any “character” sampler at all.

I’m on a pretty limited budget these days, Sampler is the only one I could actually justify buying.
