Latest musical "effort" 🧐 .. Thanks Zynthian

Like Frank Zappa Twenty small cigars per day ?
In fact, he was smocking a lot, but Winston cigarettes.

You don’t want to compare me to Zappa???
Many years ago, when I was at the piano bar, I sang ā€œCarusoā€ by Lucio Dalla in the original key… now no… no…

I think this album of mine could be titled: ā€œProvando Follemente il Meglioā€ (PFM) in english ā€œMadly Trying the Bestā€ā€¦ I’m definitely exaggerating… but it’s all school…

Finally Lanfranco @Lanfranco!

I was expecting you sooner or later on this Italian 1970s prog’s sort of Anthem of the Decade.

Great PFM song, modernist atmosphere, inspired rendition of yours!

I’ve always loved P.F.M and the Banco… but it’s technically too much beyond my capabilities… But since I’m crazy, I’ll try… after all it’s not my job, but my great passion and I enjoy it … The problem is yours who have to put up with my follies.

No
But, I’m missing him so much. Fortunately he has produced such an incredible quantity of music. …

But I want you To continue to make me discover Italian songs. So stay safe :kissing_heart:

For me…

  1. PERIGEO!!! (number 1 for me)
  2. P.F.M.
  3. Banco del mutuo soccorso (Banco),
  4. Area

As far as this or similar genre is concerned, to my taste, there are no groups at the level of these today. Their songs are never boring or going around in a tournaround… They continually amaze you with changes in tone, sound, rhythm (also considering the years in which these people played) and for me, music must amaze… as I’ve always said, I can’t stand songs with three chords or which at least do not have continuous rhythmic, harmonic and melodic changes. But this is my taste… it’s not law!

Another beautiful song by P.F.M… unfortunately these days my already bad voice is blocked… I’ll do it again when it gets better… within the limits of my abilities.
To help me on the choruses I used Waves Harmony which gives me a third above… you can hear it below at a low volume.

Suonare suonare (P.F.M.)

Arturia Augmented Piano: Piano
Arturia MiniMoog: Moog solo and pads
Omnisphere: Bass
Yamaha: El Guitar (Lanfranco)
EZDrummer: Drums
Waves Harmony: vocal background

I think I’m a masochist… At my technical level, wanting to record a CD dedicated to P.F.M. is pure madness…
This song has few chords, but it changes tempo continuously… This that I’m publishing is the first draft, it’s not mixed and I only put a reverb in the voice… but I wanted to share @le51 with this other Italian pearl…
I used the legends of the Syhth of the time, the ARP 2600, the Yamaha CS-80 and the Oberheim… in addition to the Hammond B-3… all Arturia.

Enjoyable listen. It certainly gets the period…!
It has the air of the UK proggers.
Is the string entrance going to transit from the opening passage?

Course if It was me I’d add a mellotron…!

Thanks @wyleu.
There are no strings, only Pads.
For the Mellotron… thanks for the idea I’ll try to use it for the first time… Always Arturia.

La carrozza di Hans, it’s a song from 1974… Unfortunately in Italy these great musicians were not very appreciated due to the invasion of American pop music… Only a few of my peers know these groups WELL… Groups like AREA or Banco.

Do you alter the patches in the ARP2600 & CS-80 or are they factory presets?

I chose some sounds that I liked and changed the Cutoff a little. These are the sounds used:

ARP 2600 : Fifftheese (PAD)
CS-80 : Deep Modulator (PAD)
OP - XA V : A lonely Sunday (PAD)

My existence, today, in a nutshell.

There are two of us… my wife is looking after her disabled mother because her father died two months ago… I’ve only seen her for a coffee in the morning for 25 days and then I go back home…

Interesting, tried to start both videos (Marimba + Piece of wood) at same time

Surprisingly, they sound good together

If I were asked I would say PFM…

Here in Italy ā€œPremiata Forneria Marconiā€, an Italian jewel…

If any of them will listen to my work, I hope they will forgive me. :grimacing: :face_with_monocle:

I would be interested to hear what a Really good mix engineer would make of it. There is a dynamic, good people at that level add that really allows changes to punch thrro’

And that’s not in any way a criticism. This is a process pretty much everything goes throu’ nowadays. It’s worth of it.

I would also love to learn something from a sound engineer… I am self-taught with infinite limits… If you want to pass the song on to someone, go ahead and I accept criticism VERY willingly. For this reason I publish my works here, to hear criticism and advice, not to make myself look good (also because I am very self-critical and humble).
