Ciao!

Is there a MIDI player plugin in Zynthian?
I would like to play a synth keeping a MIDI drum in backround.

thank you Jofemodo

when i do Admin > Test MIDI some instruments sound strange, worbled (see attached mp3)

the same file if played in external MIDI player sounds good

I used the snapshot you shared in General MIDI - #2 by le51 and the snapshot included in 2201 stable.
I discovered that when the MIDI file begins in all channels portamento is set ON

Any suggestion?

Hi @C0d3man!

Bold pressing the PLAY button will show the audio player.
Pressing the ALT button will change the transport controls from audio to MIDI.
Bold pressing the PLAY whilst ALT is on will show the MIDI player.

Blimey! Now you are asking awkward questions… From memory, it supports both but of course only the features that each supports, most notably splitting tracks / MIDI channels. It is a few years since I looked at the code but remember decoding both 0 & 1 (and I think there may even be later versions) of smf.

Maybe it will make the headache of thinking about why I need this more bearable: We want to cover “Money for nothing” with the band (so actually we’re already doing it) and the intro is still missing. I’ve now built a few MIDI tracks for it. It works and sounds good and reasonably authentic (for my requirements). Now I want to play the whole thing from the MIDI player so that I have my hands free for the guitar :slight_smile:

Here is the current version as mp3:

(of course without vocals or melody track, drums will be muted also later).
