There was much a do about nothing including…

  • Stacks of synths makes a room look bigger
  • Buck converter can solve lots of problems
  • Best was to interface various hardware buttons and knobs
  • Several disparate projects are approaching a similar task with similar hardware but different approaches - Zynthian is one of these
  • How are interrupts used in Zynthian?
  • Bell ringing friends describe some Brian Eno work as. “fish tank music”
  • Bluetooth MIDI can be made to work on Zynthian (let’s see that pull request) with some latency that is acceptable for some workflows but may not suit everyone
  • It would be good to know the behaviour when Bluetooth fails
  • Walking around (on stage) is overrated but can provide useful freedom, like checking sound balance without an extra sound engineer
  • You can stop your Zynthian being pulled off the shelf by anchoring with a wall wart
  • More doorbell news including integration with Home Assistant and Telegram
  • GrapheneOS for phones may help you if you have a predilection for foil hats
  • Whilst worrying about your privacy and security you may want to listen to a podcast about it
  • Walking in a winter VR land needs space - watch those pinkies
  • How many disused phones / tablets are in your drawer?
  • Protect your kids by giving them a flip-phone
  • We don’t want to choose anymore
  • SEF needs at least 3 nodes (I don’t know!!!)
  • Are there always three horizons when trying to nail down change? (Full research)
  • Which horizon are we currently aiming for with thin / thick client / server?
  • Is Testris the baseline for repurposing any grid-based hardware controller and can you get Doom to run on it?

There may have been more said. I left the room a couple of times during which we lost a few attendants - careless!

We need an exit door bell.

I suspect if properly marketed this could be worth zillions. . .

Zynthian Club was a hotbed of innovation

  • Nothing was discussed until I arrived at 8:30 or so. They just sat quietly
  • AI generated the meeting
  • someone knows linux
  • arduino IDE is the desired outcome of all development
  • we all look better on the internet
  • Atari ST
  • The pending spotify release of the Zynthian Pantomime
  • Pending changes blockers discussion
  • Many links were posted

I don’t know! Take a weekend off and look what happens? Someone turns up late, hijacks the meeting, enslaves participants to create a new song then posts about it here! But where is this wonderful offering??? :face_with_monocle: I guess @Baggypants is sunning it on a tropical island rejoicing in the profits made from the hard work of his workers.

To expand on that taster / preview…

  • A combination of delay to issuing these notes and Windows propensity to rebooting at will, some detail has been lost, living only in the minds of attendees (maybe the best place for it)
  • “Mind blowing art” using VQGAN + CLIP AI Text-To-Image Art Generator involving picts was produced during the meeting although we are yet to see the final result - demo
  • Let’s program in C, C++, Rust, Deno…
  • Maybe use D3, data driven visuals for audio path diagrams?
  • Debugging with VSCode - an echoing subject
  • Windows in a VM on RPi - not worth the bother
  • Politics and judiciary and press / media… bla bla bla - REDACTED
  • Never update / change before a demo
  • Bluetooth MIDI for £10
  • GPI refactor discussion
  • If you are snoring you may be overweight
  • The history of Private Eye
    https://www.liutaiomusiccafe.co.uk/
  • Tooting market (with just the two 't’s)
  • chroot - its a way of life (well, not quite)
  • zram to the rescue of low RAM devices
  • Pine Phone made its usual appearance
  • Zynthian and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance - it is phylisophical
  • Bitcoin - The only thing it produces is pollution
  • “I think that one’s becoming a duck”
  • Itsy Bitsy (but I don’t know why!!!)
  • AtariZynth progressing… very slowly
  • The 7 Levels Of Vocal Harmony (feat. A Capella Science)
  • Where does the phrase, “Face the music” derive?
  • We spend out money on all sorts of draw fillers
  • The first song written and released within a Zynth Club meeting

It turns out that there is a minion inside my browser that remembers everything I search for so the notes are more complete than initially expected!

Unfortunately, I left my pc running the picture, and when I returned, windows had rebooted my machine.

I ran it again… Here is your album cover:-

I see a theme here. I will be glad to move (back) to a GNU/Linux based distro when I change jobs in a couple of months.

Well, I think mine may have been another hardware failure… I had also left it rewriting my sd card to get my zynth back up and running. Now, it no longer recognizes my sd card reader. Luckily, I bought a new one and the card itself is fine. Lifeprotip :- several species of small fury creatures that live in caves get so hungry that they sometimes try and eat SD cards.

Maybe that is what happened to @gonzoB’s SD card!

How did you sample and sequence the voices?

Boomy - Make Instant Music with Artificial Intelligence you select from styles but can upload a seed audio wav…

I recorded myself reading some of the Zynthian Pantomime, Boomy warped and sequenced it.
